What is Jojoba Oil and How To Use It?

What is Jojoba Oil? Is an extract from the Jojoba tree, which is native to North America. The really interesting thing about Jojoba is that it is incredibly similar to the oil that your skin naturally produces. You can use jojoba oil on your face to balance your natural oil production; this can help with acne, dry skin, aging skin and more. Jojoba oil is safe to use on your face and will not clog your pores. Below we describe a neat way to use it and to give yourself a little love.

Start by using a little water to dampen your face, it’s helpful if you’re not wearing any makeup. Once your face is damp, put a quarter sized amount of jojoba oil in your palm. Generously, spread the oil on your face and your neck if you would like. Your face might have sheen to it, and that’s ok.

Then take a warm or hot damp rag, not dripping wet, make sure that you’re in a comfortable spot and lay the rag across your whole face. Relax, and leave the rag over your face for at least a minute or more. You can even reheat the rag if you would like and repeat.

After removing the rag use your fingers and circular motions to gently begin massaging your face. Continue to do this for five minutes or more. As you do it you will start to feel little balls of dirt and dead skin coming up.

When you’re finished use a little bit of warm water and a rag to remove the oil. You don’t have to get it all off, leave a little bit on for added moisturize through out the day.

You can do this mini facial with jojoba oil 1-2 times a week. You can also add 4-5 drops of jojoba oil to your regular moisturizer as well.

So true!! Its good to mix a bit of castor oil in too-- helps it get into the skin. Try and remove as much of the oil as possible after cleansing then add some jojoba back to moisturize! This oil is so great for skin and even hair. Avocado oil is amazing too since it is fatty. I always feel so relaxed after these little facials.

I tried jojoba oil, and it is EXCELLENT! I have very sensitive, dry skin, and this worked wonderfully, acting both as a moisturizer and an exfoliant. Living in dry climates is tough on your skin, and I was looking for a natural cleanser, and I was very pleased with this jojoba oil. I only use it about twice a month, and it keeps my skin clean and clear. Thank you! Keep it up with this blog, I love it!
